The Accord and Camry have dominated automotive sales charts in America for the past decade, while Nissan has been pegged as dowdy but serviceable. No longer. The 2002 Altima (2.5 liter, four cylinder, $16,349) is wider, with far better styling than its predecessors. The optional 240-horsepower V-6 ($22,349) is a screamer.
