Familiar Face
by Jessica JonesFeel like you’ve seen Adam McKay’s mug before but can’t remember where? We rounded up a few of his on-screen appearances.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) McKay played an unnamed custodian at the Channel 4 news station. While hosing down Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) after he is doused in a putrid cologne, McKay utters the line, “This is worse than that time the raccoon got in the copier!”
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) McKay played NASCAR driver Terry Cheveaux, who unwittingly gives crewman Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) his racing start when he makes a pit stop to devour a sandwich and Bobby must take over.
The Landlord (2007) McKay appeared briefly (left) at the beginning of Funny or Die’s now-famous debut short. But while Ferrell drew eyes, it was McKay’s real-life daughter Pearl, then 2 years old, who stole the show as the foulmouthed rent collector (right).
