Letter Rip

Dear Fritz: It sounds like not even Richard Simmons on his most ambitious day could put your new floor to the test more exhaustively than your family has. Be sure to keep your eye on American Way for all of your home-furnishing needs.

SHHHHHHH!
As a frequent flier of American Airlines, I have enjoyed your excellent biweekly publication for many years. I used to collect issues of the magazine, but because of the volume and lack of space, I finally donated them to a library.

Congratulations on your superb anniversary issue [September 1]. The look back at 1966 brought back so many memories. As a volunteer at the Carnegie Public Library of San Juan, I have been donating two copies of American Way to the library’s periodical section whenever I travel. I bring them my copy and an additional one that I rescue from a passenger who does not wish to take it with them.

American Way has become very popular with the library’s patrons, and whenever I return from a trip, they always ask, “Where’s the American Way magazine?” Thanks again for a job well done.

Antonio Rivera-Torres, Carolina, Puerto Rico

Dear Antonio: We love libraries. We also love being the star attraction in one. Which means your letter has made us very happy. You might even say it makes us want to “check out” the Carnegie Public Library.
