In 1998, Nashville’s l’Eté du Vin became the first charity wine auction outside Napa Valley to surpass the million-dollar mark. Benefiting the American Cancer Society, this year’s Vintner’s Tasting on July 24 and Grand Auction on July 26 honor industry visionary Anthony J. Terlato, chairman and CEO of the Terlato Wine Group. Terlato is known as the “Father of Pinot Grigio,” which he introduced to America in 1979 with the now widely popular Santa Margherita. Wine Enthusiast Magazine named him Man of the Year 2002, and credits him with “changing the way Americans drink.” For information, call (615) 341-7300 or visit www.nashvillewineauction.com.
