the new Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, California, touts high-speed Internet access and ergonomic Keilhauer desk chairs. But the Kimpton Group’s latest arrival aims to please leisure seekers, too. Evoking a Mediterranean villa, the Cypress greets guests with giraffe-shaped topiaries, whisks them onto a terrace with tented daybeds and limestone tables, and cossets them in plush rooms bedded in Frette linens and faux-fur throws.
