SPINAL TAP

If you’ve been flying for hours or stuck in a conference room chair for most of the afternoon, unkink your spinal alignment back in your hotel room by practicing this soothing back stretch. The key is to breathe deeply as you unwind all the muscles along your vertebra, and progress very gradually into a deeper posture.

Lie back with head, shoulders, lower back, and legs touching the floor. Bending knees into chest, bring heels to touch your buttocks and bring arms out to your sides, palms down. Very slowly, lower both bent legs to the left side of your body, gradually turning to your left side as you lower legs to the floor.

Once legs are stacked to the left, look over your right shoulder. Keep legs together and breathe deeply, pressing your legs further to the left and your head and neck to the right. Come back to center after 30 seconds, then slowly switch sides.
