Larry NorthLEAN ON MEStaying lean and fit year-round when traveling can seem like an agonizing chore. But it doesn’t have to be. The secret is being prepared.
1. Always pack exercise essentials including sneakers, shorts, shirt, cap, etc. — you never know when the opportunity to work out might arise.
2. Use downtime constructively. If you’ve got time before your flight, powerwalk the terminal.
3. The following tools are easy to pack and use while traveling: elastic bands, jump rope, and plastic push-up handles. Using these tools are great ways to shape and tone your body when there is no gym around.
4. Most important, become a good time manager. Pencil in exercise time in your appointment book. Try not to schedule a meeting earlier than 8 a.m. Be selfish and make time for yourself. Doing something as simple as a 20-minute walk or push-ups will jump-start your metabolism. It will also relieve stress and anxiety, increase self-confidence, and help in your quest to look and feel good all year long.
