Autostadt | car theme park | Wolfsburg | Germany | Volvo

Le Grand Tour De L'auto

by Michelle Meyer

While you can’t tour the factory, you can see all of Volkswagen’s brands — including the Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini — at the newly opened Center Autostadt, a car theme park at the company’s headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. The ZeitHaus shows old cars in nostalgic surroundings (including a Beetle from the cover of Abbey Road), while a video explains how movement is created from fuel. For more information, contact the VW U.S. Customer Care Center at (800) 822-8987, or the Autostadt hotline at 011-49-536-1-800-288678238 and www.autostadt.de.

Free factory tours are offered to those who’ve purchased a car for European delivery. The one-hour English-language tours occur daily, except June 15 through September 1, on national holidays, and during new model changeovers, and include a Swedish meatball lunch in the executive dining room. Tours should be booked at the time European delivery is arranged. For more information, contact by email at Volvo Tourist and Diplomat Sales or visit www.volvocars.com.
