A new twist to two-star dingin

J-Lo Mein? Asparagus Spears? Not exactly. But two pop icons — Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears — have recently opened restaurants on either coast. J-Lo’s joint, Madre’s (626-744-0900), is a Cuban-style restaurant in Pasadena, California. Britney’s bistro is in the Big Apple. It was going to be called Pinky, after a nickname Britney’s boyfriend gave her. But once the boyfriend was gone, so was the name. Now it’s NYLA (212-682-2860), in honor of New York and her home state, Louisiana. —
