California coast — would restore himself on land with a drink consisting of vanilla ice cream and Kahlua, but a cocktail by the name “Whaler” is the most popular libation with a crowd who probably takes to sea in 60-foot yachts and then retires to La Valencia Hotel’s Whaling Bar & Grill in
La Jolla, California. After a fine meal of oysters Rockefeller and king crab legs with drawn butter, the Whaler functions as much like a dessert as an after-dinner drink.
