CAREW TOWER (513-579-9735), Cincy’s tallest skyscraper, offers scenic views from the 49th floor observation deck. Attached is Tower Place at Carew Tower, with restaurants, shops, entertainment, and the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.

With its giant half dome, the CINCINNATI MUSEUM CENTER AT UNION TERMINAL (800-733-2077, www.cincymuseum.org) is a prominent landmark. The renovated art deco-style railroad terminal now houses three museums, as well as an OMNIMAX theater and the Cincinnati Historical Society Library.

In addition to the Cincinnati Art Museum, lovely Eden Park also houses the KROHN CONSERVATORY (513-352-4080), one of the largest public greenhouses in the world. In the park, visitors can stroll the Presidential Grove, with one tree honoring each U.S. president, and stop at Twin Lakes, where the lower overlook provides panoramic views of downtown.

Adjacent to Eden Park, MT. ADAMS is a bustling neighborhood where narrow 19th-century homes and trendy galleries, bars, and restaurants line winding streets. It’s easy to get around on foot and do some wine tasting, visit jazz clubs, enjoy some eclectic cuisine, or take in the sights from the steps of the Holy Cross-Immaculata Church on Guido Street.
