Charles and Ray Eames were famous for their furniture. But the husband-and-wife design team had a number of interests — and an interest in numbers. A new exhibit at the San Francisco Exploratorium examines the Eames’ fascination with math and numbers. Mathematica: A World of Numbers and Beyond spotlights edgy Eames innovations, like 512 light bulbs that perform multiplication and 30,000 cascading balls that form a bell curve.
