JELLYFISH AS ART

Art mirrors nature sometimes. But at an aquarium? Fine art and exquisite creatures share the bill in the groundbreaking exhibit Jellies: Living Art at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium. Rare animals such as blue and flower hat jellyfish reside in tanks opposite marine-inspired artworks by glass master Dale Chihuly and other organically inspired artists. Poetry quoted on the walls, mood lighting, and hypnotic music evoke a gallery experience at this Cannery Row science center through January 4, 2005. (831) 648-4888, www.montereybayaquarium.com -
