That's what we think of sexy TV mom
Courtney Thorne-Smith. And that's what she thinks of the city
of Boulder, from its great places to eat to its great
outdoors.
Over the course of two phone conversations and one lengthy
voicemail message, actress Courtney Thorne-Smith uses the word
"yummy" 11 times. It's her favorite word, and the 36-year-old,
honey-haired star of
ABC's
According to Jim dispenses it in
ways that Daniel Webster never dreamed. At one point, she even
describes a bookstore as "yummy." (She'll explain later.) The
irony, of course, is that "yummy" is how some of Thorne-Smith's
less politically correct fans would describe her.
The gorgeous
San Francisco native has had an enviable run of
success on television, beginning with Fox's prime time soap opera
Melrose Place, then playing Calista Flockhart's friend and
rival on
Ally McBeal, before moving on to
According to
Jim, in which she plays Jim Belushi's extremely patient
wife.
Whenever she can get a break from filming the Los Angeles-based
sitcom, Thorne-Smith loves escaping to the mountains of Colorado,
where her dear mother has lived for 12 years. If you ask her, it's
the yummiest place on Earth.
Let's start off where most people start off
in Colorado - in Denver. Do you remember your first great Denver
experience?
"Oh boy, I guess everyone's first great Denver experience is going
to a
football game at Mile High Stadium. Then right afterward, we
went to the ChopHouse for dinner - and boy, was it yummy. Anytime I
eat in a city, I kind of fall in love with it. [laughs] That's how
I judge a city. And if you want a great big piece of meat, go to
Denver. Anyway, this was a few years ago, and the funny thing is, I
hardly remember anything about the game. I guess I should, huh? The
entire town is all about the Broncos.
John Elway is still God
around Denver."
