foot of the mountain motel

known for its excellent location, the motel sits near the entrances to both the boulder canyon and boulder creek path. it features 18 quiet rooms built cabin-style as early as 1936.

colorado chautauqua
moderate, (303) 442-3282.
enjoy peace and quiet at this small, isolated community located near the flatirons. stay as long as one day to an entire season in one of the two lodges surrounded by beautiful lawns. or, if you plan to stay at least four days, rent one of their 61 cozy cottages.

dot's diner on the hill
inexpensive, (303) 447-9184.
located near the university of colorado, boulder, this little diner should be everyone's way to start the morning. don't be fooled by its strip-mall location. the food is excellent (think awesome huevos rancheros, huge biscuits with gravy, stellar french toast) and the atmosphere bustling and laid-back at the same time.

at this restaurant located at chautauqua park, enjoy traditional buttermilk pancakes for breakfast or try blackened catfish for lunch. you can even choose to eat out on the porch, where you'll be greeted by a view of the mountains and meadows of wildflowers.
