Brady: I like The Colonnade, which is in a terrific spot,
the
Back Bay area. The rooms are very unique, all very different.
Some have a piano or a library. I've got this image of Richard Gere
in Pretty Woman playing piano for
Julia Roberts. Now that'd be nice
to do in your own room! And there's this cool new place called the
Nine Zero. A lot of my friends like staying there because it's a
younger crowd, a little trendier, like the Mondrian in L.A. or the
W in New York. It's ultrahip with a great bar.
American Way: If your parents are visiting, what's on
the agenda?
Brady: My sisters like cooking at my place. It has a bit
more room, and [laughs] the
food tastes a little bit better. A big
pot of spaghetti and sauce, some warm French bread - works all the
time. I think I've been eating pasta for 26 years.
If we go out, there's a nice restaurant on the wharf called Siros.
They have excellent food and service and can cater to a big crowd
like the Bradys. A little bit of seafood, a little pasta, a few
meat dishes, and they serve great drinks. Right on the water,
overlooking all the boats. What's not to like?
If we stay in and want takeout, I like places that deliver at the
last minute. There's one on the wharf called Captain Fishbones that
has very good food. Excellent ribs. I'm also a sucker for Outback
Steakhouse chicken.
American Way: Do you get to any Red Sox games?
Brady: As much as I can. One thing about
Boston is that the
fans really take to their teams. Red Sox fans also take to the
Patriots and vice versa.
American Way: Where are some great places to go
around Fenway Park?
Brady: Jillian's is a really big place to go. It's kind of a
big kids' Chuck E. Cheese's, with all kinds of games and darts,
everything you want. On the street there are great sausage
vendors. The Sausage King's bratwurst are the best.
