FORDING A NEW PATH

When Ford introduced the Expedition a few years back, it was an immediate hit with the SUV crowd. However, General Motors’ Tahoe soon threatened to put an end to what could have been Ford’s domination of the market. Next round: Ford comes out swinging with its updated version of the Expedition ($31,295-$41,935), packing a 232-horsepower punch that Ford hopes will put GM on the mats. However, we think the best improvement is neither the styling nor the power but the interior treatment. Suddenly, the Ford-GM match-up becomes much more interesting.
