Forever Beautiful

Image about General Manager Of <span class= North America For The Brand"/>

Forget traditional resolutions — a new you in the new year can be as easy as rethinking your makeup routine and updating your colors (yes, colors go out of style, just like hairstyles). For years, Make Up for Ever has had a cult following among professionals, as well as novices in the know. Founded by Paris native Dany Sanz in 1984, the brand has always had a presence in New York, but now the company’s added its first West Coast location, in, where else?, Los Angeles. The Robertson Boulevard boutique was a no-brainer in terms of location, according to J.P. McCary, general manager of North America for the brand. “Robertson is the center of L.A. in terms of destination shopping. You eat at the Ivy, you pop into Kitson and then come to us for an amazing beauty experience,” he explains. “We have more than 1,400 SKUs, ranging from our best-selling liquid foundation to three different types of [fake] blood we offer to professional makeup artists.” The interior of the 1,300-square-foot space is industrial in style, with tall ceilings, exposed beams, cement floors and skylights for plenty of natural light — a must for proper makeup application. The shop also offers a series of lessons (solo or with a group) covering topics like “Eye Make Up Basics: The Classic Contour,” “Lip Technique Basics: The Longest Lasting Lip” and bridal-makeup sessions for the bride and the bridal party. 132 S. Robertson Blvd., www.makeupforeverusa.com
