Eighty percent of Americans over 25 are overweight, according to a recent Harris Poll. And this not-so-fat-free trend is on the rise, up from 58 percent in 1983 to 64 percent in 1990 and 71 percent in 1995. Plus, one-third of Americans now tip the scales into obesity.
