Culture
"Toronto has lots of museums, like the Royal
Ontario, which is
Canada's bigger museum, and the
Art Gallery of Ontario, the city's
oldest, which has the world's largest number of Henry Moore
sculptures. But I like Casa Loma, a 98-room castle built in the
early 1900s by Sir Henry Pellatt, who went around the world
gathering treasures and materials to fill his mansion. There are
turrets you can climb into, great halls, wide terraces, and a
Peacock Alley, copied from the
Windsor Castle in England. There's
also a huge wine cellar. You've got to see this place to believe
it."
Dinner
"Nami is a wonderful place for dinner before a night on the town.
Their specialty is traditional Japanese fare, including sushi and
sashimi. Another specialty is a robata bar for grilled-to-order
seafood. Sometimes it may take up to 15 to 20 minutes for
preparation, but it's worth the wait. They grill anything from
sardines to steaks. The restaurant is cozy and chic, with high
ceilings. Coco Lezzone is a Mediterranean/Italian fusion-style
restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. They have huge platters of
antipasto to share. Their roasted veggies are out of this world, as
are the blackened tuna and baked sea bass."
Nightlife
"System Soundbar is a great club. The music on Saturdays is very
underground house music, with a lot of great deejays. The last
night I was there, it was Louie Vega from Masters at Work. I always
have a great time when we go there, because everyone is dancing and
doing their thing."
