KANSAS CITY CULTURE

Looking for a good dose of Americana? Check out Winslow Homer and the Critics: Forging a National Art in the 1870s at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. More than 50 of Homer’s most famous oil paintings and watercolors from 1868 to 1881 are on display through May 6. After gracing Missouri with some of America’s best-loved (yet sometimes criticized) paintings, the exhibit moves on to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Call (816) 751-1278 or see www.nelson-atkins.org for details.
