THE GRAPE ESCAPE

Napa-meets-Aspen where Park Hyatt decants its latest luxury retreat — Mendoza, Argentina, a wine-growing region beneath the Andes, 210 miles southeast of Santiago. Behind the 19th-century facade of the former Plaza Hotel, the 185-room Park Hyatt Mendoza conjures a contemporary, art-filled escape devoted to the grape. Its lavish marble and granite lobby frames a two-story wine “library,” showcasing the hotel’s 2,500-bottle collection.
