EXT. — ENTRANCE OF THE HILTON LOS CABOS BEACH &
Five strangers have traveled thousands of miles to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico — all in search of the same elusive quarry. We find them arriving at the luxurious Hilton, where our chase begins in style. Nighttime has lifted the day’s veil of humidity, and ceiling fans under the elegant archways slowly slice though the tropical air. Ambient sounds of guests chitchatting and music drift from the nearby ocean-view bar.
The camera focuses in on JACK JENSEN, who is carrying a silver attaché case. His manner is seemingly nonchalant, yet his every movement is being carefully tracked by the others. The prize is at hand — but who will be holding it when the adventure ends?
EXT. — CABANA OVERLOOKING THE GULF OF CORTEZ — EARLY MORNING
As the sun begins its slow ascent over the horizon, a small fishing boat bobs in the shallows as men cast nets in search of baitfish. Pelicans soar lazily overhead, occasionally diving into the water to nab their breakfast. If not for the waves crashing onto the carefully groomed beach below, the silence would be disconcerting.
In the dawn’s stillness, only two people can be seen. We focus on TRACEY McCORMACK as she reclines in a poolside cabana at the Hilton. Resplendent in a red swimsuit, she is coolly indifferent to the man in the right side of the camera frame — or is she? Somehow, this man, BRAD DUPRAY, is now in possession of the silver attaché case. Its contents — like its provenance — remain a mystery.
INT. — CLUB/RESTAURANT — NIGHT
Ambient sounds of diners talking, glasses clinking, and music are in the background. The room’s lighting is soft, the atmosphere casually elegant but with a subtly sinister veneer. Waiters move in and out of the shot.
The camera focuses on BRAD, who is seated at the bar, the picture of serene confidence in a jacket and tie. He avoids the gazes of JACK and TRACEY while he nurses only a water — he must keep his wits about him if he expects to capture the prize. JACK is seated at a table just a few feet away, safely in control of the attaché case once again. TRACEY is standing nearby, stylishly attired in an eye-catching gown, keeping the men — and the attaché case — under her watchful eye.
“A martini. Shaken, not stirred.” —
EXT. — GULF OF CORTEZ — MORNING
The water sparkles in the tropical sun, and we can hear men shouting and an outboard motor growling in the distance. The scrubby hills in the background provide a pleasant, scenic backdrop for the unfolding drama. Moments before, the scene was calm and inviting — but no
longer.
We focus on CHRIS NEWBERRY, who is rushing out of the surf. His personal watercraft has been abandoned in his mad dash for land, but he keeps a tight grip on his precious cargo. Once the hunter and now the hunted, he has for the moment eluded whoever, or whatever, is after him … and the attaché case.
EXT. — POOLSIDE AT THE HOTEL — SUNSET
with subtle purples, corals, and pinks. In the fading light, an ocean breeze rustles the fronds of the palm trees that adorn the grounds of the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort. The pursuit is over.
The camera reveals KAYE WILKINS, MD, sitting on a chaise longue at the edge of the infinity pool. Utterly alone, he has no shoes on and is wearing a shirt open at the collar. With a smile on his face, he savors the taste of victory and congratulates himself on outwitting and outlasting his challengers. Five began the hunt, but only one could capture the ultimate prize: the title of Road Warrior.
