JOIN THE ACTRESS AND THE REST OF THE
SMITH SQUAD FOR A FUN WEEKEND IN HER FAVORITE
HOTSPOT
"Will calls it the Hot Spot. He'll say, 'Do you want to go to the
Hot Spot this weekend?'" says
Jada Pinkett Smith of her husband
Will Smith's nickname for
Miami. "And I'll say, 'Sure, I'm up for
some hotness.'" Thus begins the migration to sunny
Florida of the
Smith "Squad" - Jada, Will, their three kids, and a multitude more.
"There will be at least 20 of us," says Jada. "When we roll into
Miami, we roll big."
Rolling big is routine for Jada, who stars in this month's Kingdom
Come, opposite LL Cool J,
Whoopi Goldberg, and Vivica A. Fox.
Raised on music and dance in
Baltimore, Jada attended the Baltimore
School for the Arts and the North Carolina School of the Arts
before racing out to L.A., where she got her first break with a
part in The Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World. She first hit
the big screen in Menace II Society, then starred in A Low Down
Dirty Shame, The Nutty Professor, and Set It Off. Most recently,
her credits include Bamboozled, Scream 2, and Return to Paradise,
co-starring
Vince Vaughn,
Anne Heche, and Joaquin Phoenix. She also
just landed much-sought-after roles in The Matrix 2 and The Matrix
3.
As for her affection for Miami, she and Will flew there together
for their honeymoon after their top-secret wedding on New Year's
Eve 1997. They have been returning regularly ever since, to the
delight of both the populace and ever-trailing paparazzi. "People
turn their heads and go, 'Here comes Will and the Squad,'" says
Jada. So prepare yourself for some hotness, and a weekend with Jada
Pinkett Smith in Miami.
