WHETHER IT'S FOR FALLING IN LOVE OR
FILMING A MOVIE, THIS BEGUILING ACTRESS FAVORS
PARIS.
Kate Hudson has one hour and one condition: If her months-old baby
boy,
Ryder Russell Robinson, awakens, she has to run. We're meeting
to discuss
Paris, which Kate calls "my favorite subject." After
all, it's where she and her husband,
Chris Robinson, the lead
singer of the Black Crowes, fell in love. But the scoop on that
soon enough.
The 25-year-old actress first visited Paris as a child with her
mother,
Goldie Hawn. Since then, she's starred in
How to Lose a
Guy in 10 Days and
Le Divorce, which filmed for three
months in the City of Light, a dream for Francophile Kate. You can
see her this month in
Raising Helen, in which Kate stars as
a Manhattan modeling agency assistant whose career stops in
mid-high-heel step when she suddenly becomes responsible for her
sister's three kids. But first, here we go, whisked away to Paris
with
Kate Hudson, who promises to keep talking as long as her own
little one stays fast asleep.
Where do you go the minute you get to Paris? "L'Amis Louis,
one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. It's very small and
very hard to get into; you have to make reservations like almost a
year in advance. But it's our favorite. And the
côte de
boeuf, it's ridiculous. Incredible. And they have a wine list
you would travel 6,000 miles for. It's just a great vibe in there.
I get their foie gras and their potatoes and spinach. Louis runs
the place. He's amazing. Very joyous. Loves his restaurant. Makes
you happy."
Where do you stay? "We stayed at the Plaza Athénée. A
beautiful hotel. Really nice. There's a fun bar, and the service is
excellent. Actually it's kind of where Chris and I fell in
love."
