It’s In The Bag
by

Lighthouse II Soft Wheeled Bag: Lands' End took the
traditional duffel, added in-line skate wheels, and came up with
something much more manageable. Comes in three sizes, and includes
all the usual Lands' End touches - a couple of roomy exterior
pockets, durable Cordura fabric, and handles that fasten together
on the off chance you'll actually want to carry the thing. $119 for
23-inch medium;

Samsonite 7 Series: We especially liked Samsonite's new 7
Series, a line of cases and carry-ons designed to make it easier
for security personnel to check contents without wrinkling your
carefully folded gear or upsetting your gadget organization. The
Instant View Professional Carry-On is a combo computer case and
overnight bag that features a separate, expandable packing
compartment and a computer sleeve. Front pockets carry accessories
for person and machine. $200;

Patagonia Burrito Suiter: Hot or mild? One road warrior
entrant mentioned this spicy little bag by name, and swore he never
leaves home without it. The sturdy Burrito folds into thirds, and
its multiple pockets organize travel books, ties, and toiletries.
Internal straps compress contents to their minimal volume, and the
main compartment has lockable sliders. It also comes with the
com-pany's "human curve" shoulder strap, and is the only
non-rolling bag to make this list. $191;

Travelpro Majestic: Made from DuPont Teflon 3360D TuffGuard
ballistic nylon, Majestic claims to have the toughest skin on the
market. We like the non-protruding wheels (which don't get caught
when you're squeezing it into the overhead), its smooth locking
handle, the expandable main compartment, and little extras like a
laundry bag and shoe pockets. $595 for the 24-inch rollaboard
suiter;
