SPA SPOTS

Is a resort a resort without a spa? The now de rigueur amenity just arrived at these three properties:

PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS: The spa at the upscale Ocean Club (800-321-3000, www.oceanclub.com) is so ritzy that patrons get their own private villa at which therapists arrive treatment-ready. Whether it’s a Royal Thai massage or the Caribbean Coffee Body Scrub, each session begins with a floral foot bath and ends with Asian tea service. Ooh la la.

AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA: The 1,350-acre oceanfront Amelia Island Plantation (888-261-6161, www.aipfl.com) near Jacksonville built a suitably large spa with 20 treatment rooms and a dedicated Watsu — or
water massage — pool on an island amid the mangroves. Say ohmmm.

LENOX, MASSACHUSETTS: At the countryside Cranwell Resort & Golf Club in Massachusetts’ Berkshire Hills (800-272-6935, www.cranwell.com), fit fanatics have gained a 5,000-square-foot gym and 60-foot swimming pool, while the pampered set gets detoxed by seaweed or packed in heated clay. —
