CRAFTY COCKTAIL
Obsession can take many forms. Restaurateur Michael Moore is so in love with the classic look of antique Chris Craft boats from the 1920s and 1930s that he has decorated his one-year-old restaurant, MICHAEL'S ROOM (1745 N. Vermont Ave.; 323-661-6387), in the hip Los Feliz section of L.A., with highly varnished dark wood planking, nautical themes, and photos of himself as a child on the family boat. Oddly enough, he’s not currently an owner of a Chris Craft, but he drinks to the idea every time the bartender makes the restaurant’s signature cocktail — complete with a coffee bean on top that represents a mahogany-wooded Chris Craft at sea.
