There’s plenty to do and see in Park City that doesn’t involve strapping on a pair of skis. Top of the list: shopping!

We took a break from the slopes just long enough to scout out the shopping scene in downtown Park City, and all it took was one step inside Sugar Buzz Candy Boutique - 651 Park Ave., www­.sugarbuzzcandy.com - to know we were in for a (major) treat. This darling shop offers homemade cupcakes, cookies and confections (marshmallows!), plus nearly 500 types of candy that instantly bring back the nostalgia of childhood — like those little wax soda bottles filled with syrup, or the tiny Necco candy buttons that come on paper strips by the millions (we’re getting a stomachache just thinking about how many of those we ate as kids). For a little more sustenance, over on Main Street you can swing into the Mountain Town Olive Oil Co. - 605 Main St., www.mountaintownoliveoil.com - and sample as many exotic and delicious blends of olive oils and balsamic vinegars as you wish. Just grab a little plastic cup, fill it with a pinch of oil or ­vinegar (or both!), dip your bread in and munch. Our favorites included mixing the Tuscan Herb Olive Oil with the Fig Balsamic (we shipped several bottles of each home), as well as the Chipotle and Blood Orange olive oils. Farther down Main, offering an eclectic array of antiques, art, vintage clothing, jewelry and, well, just about everything else unique and cool that you can imagine, Lanny Barnard Gallery - 577 Main St., www.lannybarnardgallery.com - is a can’t-miss, whether you’re shopping for friends and family or just yourself (we managed to scoop up a fantastic vintage ruby ring as a souvenir). For photography, stop by the ­Fatali Gallery* - 556 Main St., www.fatali.com, which features work by renowned lensman Michael Fatali, who specializes in Cibachrome photography — an uncommon form that actually requires the use of a darkroom and, gasp, no digital manipulation.
