Heidi Klum's Germany

LUNCH
"In
Munich, I would go to the Hofbrauhaus am Platz, the world's
most famous beer hall. When people think of
Germany, with the big
mugs of beer and the big women with their dirndls and their aprons
and the cuckoo clocks, that really is very Bavarian, very Munich.
The Bavarians say, 'We're not Germans, we're Bavarians.' The
Hofbrauhaus goes back years. It's really huge. There are always
tons of people, more than 3,000, sitting at long benches and eating
sauerbraten. A traditional band plays music. And you can order
meter-long sausages, goulash, and dampfnudel, this amazing pastry
lathered with vanilla sauce. I love it."
ONE LAST BEER AND A COFFE FOR THE ROAD
"The Augustiner Bräustuben brew house is where they make the famous
Augustiner beer. You have to have a beer and some great Bavarian
food there. Then, the next morning, you can go to Dallmayr, the
famous place for coffee and cake. It's a restaurant in the center
of Munich and it specializes in coffee. Like in the States you have
Starbucks, there you have Dallmayr specialty coffee. And great
chocolate pralines."
