Festival Of Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Mexico City

On December 12, pilgrims flock to the Basilica of Guadalupe to pay their respects to Mexico's patron saint. It's a national holiday, and celebrations fill streets across the country.

The National Christmas Tree, Washington, D.C.
The switch is flipped on December 1, and the giant tree stays lit through January 1. You can see it on the Ellipse, between the Mall and the White House, along with the 56 smaller trees representing the 50 states, the U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
