See It

by Elaine Glusac

THEY REIGN IN SPAIN

In colonizing much of the world, the Spanish popularized their art globally, from New Mexico to the Philippines. Now Santa Fe, New Mexico’s new Museum of Spanish Colonial Art claims boasting rights as the first museum of Spanish art. Some 600 objects — including sculptures, filigree jewelry, paintings on wood, and even tools — fill the Museum Hill newcomer in a former Pueblo Revival house dating to 1930.
