hotel maison de ville and the audubon
cottages, very expensive, (504) 528-5858. there's no more relaxing spot than this hidden gem just off bourbon street.
hotel provincial, moderate, (504) 581-4995. located in the heart of the french quarter, this antiques-filled hotel is still central to the action.

bayona, expensive, (504) 525-4455. susan spicer is one of the most respected chefs in a city filled with respected chefs. she's also in the kitchen nearly every night. one note: try the sweetbreads. trust us.
coop's place, inexpensive, (504) 525-9053. the bar is worn like an old pair of jeans, and the jambalaya is hands down the best in new orleans.
