The first NFL regular-season game of 2002 kicks off Thursday, September 5, with the San Francisco 49ers meeting New York in Giants Stadium at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. On September 8, see how the Houston Texans are welcomed into the NFL by their intrastate neighbors to the north, the Dallas Cowboys, in Houston’s new retractable-roofed Reliant Stadium. Also look for a CBS double-header Sunday, September 15, starting with pregame coverage at noon ET. — J.E.M.
