One question I get quite often is, “How hard is it to come up with your column ideas?” This is usually followed by, “Are you always happy with what you publish?” Both are very good, straightforward questions. And like any storyteller worth his salt , I’ll answer with a long, meandering illustration. Writers are quirky beings. Each one brings his or her personal style to the keyboard, and each one has various idiosyncratic routines.
