Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira was originally acquired by Dow’s in 1890 but was sold off in 1954, when the prospect for port looked bleak. By 1998 the interest in port had revived and the estate was, fortunately, reacquired. The dark, dense 1999 has a great concentration of lush, plummy fruit leading into a luxurious finish.
