PAINTED FACES

250 YEARS OF PORTRAITURE GOES ON TOUR

Stare at 75 famous American faces in A Brush with History at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh through April 8. While the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., is being renovated, its exhibit of leading Americans — from Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain to Martha Graham and Michael Jackson — is touring the world for the first time. After Raleigh, the collection goes on to Nashville, Tennessee; Tokyo; Louisville, Kentucky; Montgomery, Alabama; New Orleans; and London. For more information, log on to www.npg.si.edu.
