L.A. RETAIL GETS GROOVY

Forget big-box malls. Los Angeles’ new outdoor center The Grove, linked to the neighboring Farmers Market via electric trolley, has The Gap, of course. But tenants assemble in a retail village of tree-lined streets, showcase water fountains, and public plazas anchored by Nordstrom and a 14-screen cineplex.
