Saab 9-3 | America

Wheels

by Ed Wallace

SAAB

Saab has long had the most overlooked line of vehicles in America, a complete shame as its autos are wonderfully balanced in their handling characteristics. Of course, it is the uniqueness of Saab’s exteriors that have probably kept the cars from becoming more mainstream. That all changes with the introduction of the 2003 Saab 9-3 sedan ($25,900 plus freight and options), which struts a more conventional exterior yet still offers the features and handling that keep Saab owners loyal. Saab takes pride in the fact that 60 percent of the people who test-drive a Saab end up buying one. Now with the 9-3’s new look, more people than ever might actually go take that test-drive.
