The new Sagamore hotel loves the spotlight

Move over Delano. South Beach’s new Sagamore hotel threatens to steal the thunder of its hipster neighbors with witty design, plush rooms, and a stunning art collection. After rehabbing the 1948 oceanfront property, Sagamore’s owners, former art dealers, filled its bright white gallerylike ground floor with an impressive array of contemporary artwork. Ninety-three comfortable suites leave minimalism to the lobby in favor of rich, slightly retro furnishings. Sixteen two-story bungalows and eight rooftop penthouses pamper with sprawling quarters.
