SCREAMING YELLOW MONKEY

The hottest new bar in the Sarasota, Florida, area is The Monkey Room at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort on Longboat Key (1620 Gulf of Mexico Dr.; 941-383-6464), and bartender Katrina has come up with a celebratory signature cocktail called The Screaming Yellow Monkey, which is made by combining one ounce each of vodka, banana liqueur, and heavy cream, and one-half ounce of cream de cacao. Shake with ice and serve on the rocks. Garnish with a banana slice and, if you have a swizzle stick shaped like a monkey, so much the better. Don’t plan to work on your backhand that afternoon, though.
