Shui Cocktail | energy | San Francisco | fusion food

Bar None

by John Mariani

GOOD VIBRATIONS
The Oriental art of feng shui is all about balance of energy, so the designer of Ponzu in San Francisco (401 Taylor; 415-775-7979) hired a feng shui expert to assess the vibes in the restaurant and bar, which specializes in, appropriately enough, Asian fusion food. Not to be outdone, chef John Beardsley and the bartenders gathered behind the bar to create an electric-blue drink they named the Feng Shui, which, frankly, is not that easy to say after one or two.

Feng Shui Cocktail
3/4 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. gin
3/4 oz. rum
3/4 oz. triple sec
1 1/2 oz. Sweet and Sour
Splash of 7UP
Splash of blue curaçao
Combine all ingredients except curaçao in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain into a hurricane or other tall glass filled with ice. Drizzle a splash of blue curaçao over the top.
