by Josh Sens

New York’s Skidmore College isn’t just on the map. It’s into maps, thanks to a just-unveiled exhibit at its new Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery. “The World According to the Newest and Most Exact Observations” traces the history of map-making, from 16th-century depictions of the cosmos to modern-day sketches of the human body. Through more than 40 geographic atlases and scientific models, the exhibit explores how maps both illuminate and obscure the things they represent. Through June 3 at 815 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Call (518) 580-8080 or see www.skidmore.edu/tang.
