ONE JAZZY COCKTAIL

What could be more appropriate for a hot restaurant with a great jazz club than a signature cocktail named after a Cole Porter song? That’s what inspired Love for Sale, created by head bartender Victor Gonzalez at New York’s 27 Standard (116 E. 27th St.; 212-447-7733). Its jazz club, The Jazz Standard, features some of the best live jazz in the city. The Mandarin orange vodka gives a nice ex-otic edge to the aptly named cocktail, while the passionfruit liqueur provides seductiveness, and its service in a martini glass makes it very New York indeed.




love for sale
1 oz. absolut mandarin vodka
1/2 oz. passionfruit liqueur
1/2 oz. pineapple juice
1/4 oz. orange juice
pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice, shake till very cold, and strain into a chilled martini glass. garnish with an orange slice.
