John Mariani LOUISVILLE SLUGGERLouisville’s grandest hotel, The Seelbach Hilton (500 Fourth Ave.; 502-585-3200), which, under the fictionalized name “Mulbach” was the setting for Daisy Buchanan’s wedding in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, is famous for its mint juleps during the running of the Kentucky Derby. But its bartenders keep coming up with more modern drinks that also partake of the state’s most noble spirit — bourbon.
The Seelbach Cock-tail gives it a little orange sweetness and some bitters, and the bubbly topper makes it a great drink with which to celebrate any time of year.
