The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring debuts August 6. Hobbit fans, get ready, this two-disc set boasts bonuses aplenty.
Experience Middle Earth firsthand through one of 15 featurettes originally created for
www.lordoftherings.net, plus preview the video game The Two Towers and see TV spots and original theatrical trailers. But the greatest draw of the DVD — besides the Oscar-winning film itself — is the 10-minute sneak peek behind the scenes of the second film in the trilogy, The Two Towers, due in theaters December 18.
And as a reminder: The LOTR “Special Extended Edition” hits shelves November 12. Mark your calendars now because, among other pluses, the four-disc set will contain 30 minutes of never-before-seen footage filmed just for the home video release — which should ensure it a place in your video library right next to this month’s version.
Several other films of note make their DVD debut this month, including Academy Award-nominees
In the Bedroom, starring
Sissy Spacek, Tom Wilkinson, and Marisa Tomei; and Iris, with
Kate Winslet and
Judi Dench. —
