Ed Wallace Toyota designers tried to jump-start the mini-sport utility market in 1996 with the original RAV4, only to have their sales thunder taken away when Honda introduced its CRV. Things change. An all-new and hip-looking body design combined with a stronger 148-horsepower engine means that Toyota has now leveled the playing field in the mini-sports utility sales game.
