Turkey

Father Nose Best

by Anthony Dias Blue
Page:

Rare Breed is bottled at barrel proof. That means that no water is added to lower the proof and hence dilute the flavor. Wild Turkey’s six-, eight-, and 12-year-old stocks are “married” (a term whiskey blenders use frequently) to create this blend. At more than 108 proof, this is one assertive bird, but it manages nonetheless to glide onto the palate with a lot of finesse, releasing gorgeous flavors of citrus, honey, and smoke along the way. Definitely a breed apart.
