Warren Beatty | Along Came a Spider | Alex Cross | James Patterson

Movies

by Amy Robinson

TAX BREAK
Tax time got you down? Take a break and head to the movies, where action and comedy upstage profits and losses. Along Came a Spider stars Morgan Freeman reprising his role as Alex Cross, the Washington, D.C., police detective and psychologist first seen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls. Cross is the brainchild of author James Patterson, and Along Came a Spider is an adaptation of the first book in the series. For Patterson fans, this is a must-see; if you aren’t a fan yet, you will be.

Town & Country stars Warren Beatty as Porter Stoddard, a successful architect in the throes of a midlife crisis. He admits a string of affairs to his wife, played by Diane Keaton, and gains support from funnyman Garry Shandling, (pictured with co-star Jenna Elfman) whose character is in the midst of a divorce. But, never fear, this is a Warren Beatty film, and regardless of past transgressions, he almost always comes out on top. Adding to the comedic lineup are Andie MacDowell and Goldie Hawn.
