My Story

I didn’t plan on starting over — nobody does. But life, as it turns out, doesn’t always stick to your plan.

After my divorce, I found myself single for the first time in years, staring at a dating world that had changed faster than I had. Apps, swipes, voice notes, “situationships” — it all felt like another language. So I decided to learn it.

That’s how American Way Mag started — as a place to document what it’s like to rebuild. To date again. To rediscover who you are when the dust settles and the ring is gone.

Some days, I write about the weirdness of online dating. Other days, it’s about what I’ve learned — how people communicate (or don’t), how love evolves, how to laugh through rejection, and how to stay hopeful when it’d be easier not to.

I’m not an expert. I’m just a guy figuring it out in real time — and telling the truth about it.
If you’ve ever had to start over, you’ll find a piece of yourself here too.
